Pregnant women standing in a woodland setting. Maternity Photography in Auckland & Christchurch

Are you pregnant and looking to book a maternity photoshoot? Then this is for you. The complete guide to looking and feeling great at your Maternity session.

Capturing your pregnancy is so special to me! Creating those memories to look back on and having ever lasting photos to show your future children.

I know the thought of a photoshoot can be daunting to some of you but it is my absolute goal to make you feel at ease during your session, making it as stress free and enjoyable as possible.

What can I expect from a maternity shoot with Gracefully Captured Photography?

Right from when you enquire with me I intend to make the process and smooth and easy as can be for you.

I will first ask some questions such as what type of setting you would like, time of day ect. Do you want the beach, a garden vibe, or in the comfort of your own home.

From there I create a mood board of ideas to work with.

Day of the Session

I recommend booking at least an hour long session for Maternity, this gives us the time to capture a range of images. I like to capture photos of you on your own to feel empowered and beautiful as well as capturing you with your partner and/or children.

Once you arrive at the location I will go over my plan for the session and the it’s time to create. I will start with some less intimidating poses and prompts to start the session off so you can ease into it and get comfortable.

Tips to feeling your best during your Maternity Photoshoot

More than anything I want you to feel like YOU in your photos. You are glowing and growing new life which is pure magic.

  • Wear something to show your bump!

I have another blog post that talks about choosing a colour but you want to wear something that you feel good in and shows your bump beautifully. Such as a two piece set or fitted dress. Flowing materials are great or if your feeling up to it then nude or semi nude is optional.

  • Open Communication

Let’s chat, let me know how you are feeling on the day and what you want to get out of your shoot. If you aren’t feeling 100% the lets reschedule until your are truly feeling it.

  • Relax

Last but not least to least, relax into your session, I am there to guide you and deliver your vision. I want you to not just like the photos but to enjoy the whole experience.

Thank you for reading, if you have any questions please reach out to me.
